Milford-on-Sea village is about half-a-mile away and has a comprehensive range of shops, Post Office, bank, and restaurants to suit all tastes as well as three splendid pubs. Ferries are available to Hurst Castle and to the Isle of Wight and sea-fishing can be arranged.
