ROYAL BRITISH LEGION The aims and objectives of the Royal British Legion are to safeguard the welfare, interests and memory of those who served in the Armed Forces together with their dependants. Local members of the Royal British Legion support its aims with the utmost care and enthusiasm, and new members are very welcome. Most people in Milford known the name of Mrs. Freda Cheyney MBE who runs the Women's Section of our Milford branch, but we have decided the time has come for us men to raise a higher profile! We, the Royal British Legion Milford-on-Sea Branch are of course open to all, men and women, but we do enjoy between us a good and comradely competition when it comes to the money raising for the Royal British Legion in November each year, which is something of stimulus for raising a really good final total! We aim to provide welfare assistance to qualifying members of the community where necessary and to encourage ex-service personnel and supporters of our armed forces to meet together in comradeship, especially in this difficult time of war in Iraq, Afghanistan and still in Bosnia and also with those serving with the United Nations. Membership is open to everyone - regardless of whether they have had the opportunity to serve in the Armed Forces. We hold regular events throughout the year and those from now to June as as follows:
TBC - To Be Confirmed These events will be featured on the Read page of the Milford-on-Sea Website as their dates approach. [ Click here ] If you are interested in the work of the Branch or require assistance, please contact:
