MILFORD HOSPITAL FRIENDS Do visit our new Website! HISTORY AND AIMS OF THE ORGANISATION Milford-on-Sea Branch of the League of Hospital & Community Friends was formed in 1949 and is a voluntary organisation registered with the Charity Commission. Its prime object is to support the charitable work of Milford War Memorial Community Hospital, with its 19 beds and adjoining Day Centre and Therapy Unit. The league also supports the work of two palliative nurses who are based at Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington and invalids in the community. Its income comes from Annual Subscriptions (which may be paid under Covenant if desired) in addition to donations from other organisations, patients, ex-patients and relatives of patients. Income is also received from legacies and special fund raising events.
