Bowling Club

The Club was founded in 1933 and "exists for the happiness of its members". Such is the reputation of the Club that membership has increased from 71 in 2006 to 121 at the end of the 2009 playing season.

The Club's Green has 6 rinks and is situated on the Sea Front. The mixed membership have Club roll-up afternoons on Wednesdays and Fridays and we participate in New Forest and Bournemouth and District Leagues. Ladies' fixtures are on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Men's fixtures on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturday afternoons.

Club Competitions are organised in season and there is a strong social programme throughout the year. NEW MEMBERS are welcome and tuition is available for beginners. A Newcomers Coffee Morning is held in late April or early May each year.

In spite of maintaining and improving the high standards of the Club itself it still only costs prospective members and members of the public £3.00 per person per session for rink hire. Bowls and shoes can be hired for a further £2.00 per person if required.

Short Mat Bowls is played throughout the winter months on a daily basis.

An Open Day is being held this year on 11th October for newcomers and prospective members to try the game and meet us over a cup of coffee at which you will be very welcome.
